| What is the spring rate and travel length of these springs? You can order coils in almost any size and almost any spring rates. They don't have to be "Swift" coils. I think the Powertrix coilovers are much stiffer than OEM rates. As I recall they were in the 8kg to 6kg range, while there was a softer spring set offered at 6kg and 4 or 5kg. Either way, they are much stiffer than OEM. Once the travel is reduced (read height lowered), there is no other recourse than to stiffen the rates to keep the suspension off the bumpstops and/or prevent coil-bind. The OEM springs rates are: TT Front: 168 lbs/in or 3.0 Kg/mm TT Rear: 134 lbs/in or 2.4 Kg/mm Eibachs are slightly stiffer and use a progressive coil: TT Front: 182 lbs/in up to 251 lbs/in TT Rear: 142 lbs/in up to 199 lbs/in Yes, a softer more compliant spring, with the appropriate matching shock, can result in the tires’ contact patch being more stable on rough surfaces, e.g. gripping the road instead of skipping over the road surface. This in turn may reduce overall braking distances on a bumpy road surface. PS I looked at the Swift homepage and their application charts. While I did not see coil units per se, it looked to me like most of their springs rates are pretty stiff for most of the applications. Although I like the fact that most of the springs are linear, and not progressive.
